Long since art started becoming a recreational activity, there have been artists whose fame and attention have been deserved, but not received.
From my perspective, it seems that the only conventional way of acquiring recognition is to produce art pandering to the libido of the male audience. Which, it saddens me to say that doing so is more advantageous than actually producing my own original content. Even if you aren't a high quality artist, you can still become recognized by neophytes and other low-quality artists alike. (Of course, I'm using the term artist very loosely. That in and of itself is another discussion.)
Of course, even neophytes won't notice you if your art is completely abysmal. These low-tier, but still somewhat noticed artists even get commissioned by others
to produce second-rate work, compared to that of artists that peer my skill.
Perhaps I should broaden my horizons and see what I could exploit to get myself further recognized...
